Important Tips:- DO NOT compose your message using your email
client, most automatically save draft copies on the server or your hard disk.
Either compose your message directly in the text box below or paste it from a text
editor that does not save drafts. Some example editors include:
- Windows: Notepad
- Mac: TextEdit
- Any: Emacs w/ auto-save-mode off (usually this is the default, but check the mode line).
- If at all possible, exchange passwords (i.e. keys) in person; noisey cafes with good wine
are best. :^)
- Be careful with attachments! Best not to use them unless you know how to use something
like openssl.
- If you start a thread encrypted, always use encryption. If you encript only parts, some
of the encrypted words will will almost surely appear in plain text too. This makes cracking
much easier.
- And yes its a pain, but don't always use the same password. Go to the noisey cafe, enjoy wine,
and exchange keys more often! More seriously, maximum caution requres that one NOT use an
encrypted mail to exchange new passwords since they will only be as strong as the original
password.
